Yes! As a child sponsor you have the opportunity to choose a child and communicate with him or her if you so desire. This chance allows you, as a child sponsor, to hear directly from your sponsored child, to establish a friendship with him or her that will carry a special meaning for both of you.

For only $28 a month—less than a dollar a day—you can become a child sponsor and help change the lives of children in need around the world. We have many child sponsors who have supported us for over 15 years and we hope you will too!

Birfano has learned that one of the most effective ways of helping children is to combine your sponsorship gifts with those of other sponsors and donors - rather than giving them directly to your sponsored child. This system ensures that children in sponsorship communities, who may never have the opportunity to have a sponsor of their own, will still benefit from Birfano sponsorship programs.

You can feel confident that Birfano will spend your contributions wisely. Birfano spends 91 percent of all expenditures on program services. Ninety-one percent is an average for all Birfano’s programs worldwide; the percentage spent in a particular program may vary.

Yes! When enrolling, you can choose a child to sponsor by region, country, gender and/or age. If you do not have a preference, you are also given the option to sponsor a child where sponsor support is needed the most.

Yes! You are able to share the gift of child sponsorship with a loved one by selecting a child and entering the gift recipient’s information at the end of the enrollment form. The recipient will soon receive a gift card and welcome package introducing them to Birfano’s family of child sponsors.
